In this special ‘vacation cast’ episode, Andy shares an important announcement.

Andy: Welcome back! This time it’s a vacation cast with me, Andy, and Mon-Chaio is probably away on Easter holidays while I’m recording this. So normally in my vacation cast I talk about something that I’ve been reading, something I’ve been thinking about. But this one is a little bit different. This one is an announcement.
Which is that I’m gonna be stepping back from the podcast for around a year. I am going to be going away and spend a year doing a furniture, making and design course. Now furniture making is something that I’ve, I’ve been picking up and, [00:01:00] and, and I’ve been really enjoying.
And so I’m gonna go and use part of my time, part of my resources to just dive much more into it. But what that means is I’m gonna have very little time left over. The course that I’m doing is a very intensive nine month or so course. Possibly seven days a week. And doing this podcast requires almost a day, a week of working with Mon-Chaio, coming up with what we’re gonna do and doing the research, doing the reading, doing the recording, and then doing the editing.
And so I don’t think that I’ll be able to go along with that. Mon-Chaio, however. wants to continue the podcast. So over the next few weeks, I’m going to be working with him on what is the format gonna look like without me around. So is he going to be doing interviews? Is he going to be doing long monologues?
Do you wanna just listen to [00:02:00] Mon-Chaio for a while? Is he going to, kind of pull in other people, not for really an interview room, more of a discussion. What, what’s the format going to be? How is he gonna keep this going? And so I’ll be working with him on that over the next few weeks as we sort out what is going to be happening with the podcast.
But it will be continuing. Mon-Chaio is going to be continuing it. So it’s quite an announcement that I’ll be stepping back from this, but it’s been a, a pleasure to do this.
It’s been a lot of fun. I’ve learned a lot. I’ve enjoyed people, uh, talking to me about it. I’ve enjoyed their questions. So thank you all. It has been a lovely time. And until next time, which is actually gonna be another vacation cast from Mon-Chaio because Easter holidays, things got, got in the way. So we’ll be back with an actual episode in a few weeks, on the capability and maturity model.
